Remanded to custody

CHENNAI: Adikesavan, the man accused in a multi-crore rupee cheating case, was on Monday remanded to judicial custody.

He was arrested on May 2 on charges of duping several businessmen across the country of several crores of rupees. Adikesavan reportedly promised these businessmen huge loans from non-resident Indians on soft payback terms. His six-day police custody ended on Monday.

Power cut

Power supply will be suspended in Foreshore Estate on Wednesday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Free camp

Lions Club of Chennai Metro North in association with Seva Bharathi organised a free medical camp near Pulicat Lake on Sunday. Over 700 persons were treated.

Bush invite

Swami Dayananda Saraswati, founder of Arsha Vidya Gurukulam was invited for a breakfast-prayer meeting on May 5 at Washington DC with the President of the United States, George W. Bush.

Yoga course

Summer classes

The Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanams is conducting free summer classes on Annamacharya Sankeerthanas at its information centre at Venkatanarayana Road, T. Nagar from May 10 to 16. G. Madhusudhana Rao will take the classes between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.
