CHENNAI: The Congress Legislature Party leader, S.R. Balasubramoniyan, on Monday met the Governor, Surjit Singh Barnala, in connection with the petitions he presented to the Governor a few weeks ago. Mr. Balasubramoniyan said the Governor assured him that he would take appropriate action. He had urged the Governor to take action against 11 Ministers who, he alleged, violated their oath by staging a dharna in the city during the Chennai Corporation byelection. He represented to the Governor on the behaviour of the ruling party members on the floor of the House. He said the Opposition parties were not allowed to speak and the Chief Minister was "misusing the Rule 110 of the Tamil Nadu Assembly Rules," preventing discussion on important issues concerning people.
