MADIKERI: The Codava National Council (CNC), demanding autonomous homeland status to the Kodavas in the district, will hold an indefinite satyagraha from May 18 to press for its demands, according to the secretary general of the council, N.U. Nachappa, here on Tuesday. A decision to this effect was taken at the "Kodava Parliament Session" held at the Capitol holiday resort here on Monday, Mr. Nachappa said. The session also resolved to review the progress made with regard to the Kodava Census undertaken by the CNC. An insignia with a Kodava in traditional attire was accepted as the official emblem of the CNC at the session, Mr. Nachappa said. Rich tributes were paid to V.S. Ramakrishna, noted writer, and Kuttanda Nanda Uthaiah, a supporter of the CNC, who passed away recently.
