UDUPI: Three persons from Kerala were killed in a van-tempo collision near Dandatirtha School at Uliyargoli, on National Highway 17, under the Kaup police station limits, on Tuesday. According to police, the deceased have been identified as Sethu (15), Bina Prakash (38) and Amol Shankar (15). About 10 persons were travelling in the van (KL 02, Q 4111). The driver of the vehicle and another person, Santosh, are said to have escaped unhurt in the accident. Five persons travelling in the vehicle have been admitted to a private hospital in Udupi for treatment. The mishap took place when the driver of the van was trying to overtake a tempo. The van was proceeding from Kollur to Kotarakara in Kollam district of Kerala. The other two deceased are said to be relatives of Bina Prakash.
