KOZHIKODE: The Payyoli police have referred the First Information Report (FIR) on the Hajira case sent to them by the Kurla police to the Public Prosecutor, Kozhikode, for legal opinion. The case relates to Meladi Kizhakke Kathirattil Hajira whose two children were found dead under mysterious circumstances. According to the Payyoli police, the Kurla police who were inquiring into the death of Hajira's one-and-a-half-year-old son Alfas sent the case diary to the Superintendent of Police, Kozhikode Rural, who passed it on to the Payyoli police. Hajira is on remand till May 16 in connection with a case filed by the Payyoli police. The Kurla police had earlier filed a petition at the Munsiff/Magistrate Court, Payyoli, for custody of Hajira for questioning.
