KOCHI: The Kerala High Court on Tuesday adjourned to May 19 hearing on a petition challenging the Kozhikode Vigilance Court's order framing charges against P. P. V. Moosa, Muslim League leader, in the case relating to the demand for bribery for sanctioning a B.Ed college. The petition filed by Mr. Moosa was adjourned by Justice M. N. Krishnan. The vigilance case was launched on the basis of the complaint filed by Jomon Puthenpurackal. The case against three Muslim League leaders from Wayanad was that they had allegedly demanded Rs.2.5 lakhs for sanctioning a B.Ed. college in Wayanad. Mr. Jomon had alleged in his complaint that the Text Fed chairman, N. Mammotty, the IUML Wayanad district secretary, P. C. Ahammed, and the IUML leader, P. P. V. Moosa had demanded the bribe from Yoohanon Mar Phelexinos, Malabar Metropolitan of the Jacobite Syrian Christian Church, for issuing a no-objection certificate for a B.Ed. college. He alleged that the Government had refused to issue NoC because the church did not pay the bribe.
