Lokman startles all
KOLKATA:
An offer to conduct a medical investigation into the abnormal weight of a male baby, Lokman, free of cost was turned down by his parents.
Lokman, born to a couple from Domkal in Murshidabad district of West Bengal, was brought to the State-run SSKM hospital here on Tuesday after being referred by the district hospital for a thorough investigation.
Lokman's mother Gyanera Bibi said the infant, who has been drawing huge crowds at their home in suburban Domkal, drank over five litres of milk and 2.5 kg of rice flour every day. ``He has not been eating properly for some days and we were concerned. But he has resumed his normal diet again.''
Lokman's parents went to the SSKM Hospital with the baby, but refused to admit him. Head of the Paediatric Department at the hospital, P.K. Chanda, said the couple was offered a free investigation to pinpoint the reasons for the abnormality.
