NEW DELHI: Looking for innovative ideas from its officers and ranks on upgrading its weapons systems and procedures, the Army on Tuesday launched a `Dreamers Club' website. It was inaugurated by the Chief of the Army Staff, General J.J. Singh. It is hosted on the Army's Intranet site. It seeks to provide a forum for non-technical staff to offer ideas to improve equipment and techniques. ``Any soldier can now post his ideas or innovative thoughts on the website and these will... reach Army Headquarters,'' the General told reporters. ``All soldiers, not just the technical staff have ideas about how things can be improved, and these ideas are based on experience and commonsense.'' The Army chief said the ideas posted on the site will be passed on to the department concerned if it is found worthy of being followed up. Ideas could even be bounced on the website to invite inputs from others. A part of the site will be available on the Internet, where people at large can access it. The website was launched as part of an `Innovations Seminar', on the sidelines of which a display of innovations in the Army has been organised. The Army chief presented commendation cards to four armymen for their innovations and released a compilation of innovations developed by the Army.
