SHIMOGA: The Janata Dal (United) is still undecided about fielding a candidate for the coming byelection to the Lok Sabha from Shimoga constituency, but it will field a candidate for the byelection to the Assembly from Chamarajpet constituency in Bangalore. Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, the State JD(U) President, B. Somashekar, said the party will decide in a day or two whether it should nominate a candidate or not from Shimoga after eliciting the views of party workers. He, however, said his party will have no alliance or tie-up with any party. He also made it clear that the party will have no truck with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) as far as this election is concerned. He said that the both partners in the coalition Government in the State had lost the confidence of the people because of what he termed "non-performance."
