PERAMBALUR: Tiruchi and Perambalur district units of the Tamizha Vivasayigal Sangam have appealed to the Government to stop distraint proceedings against farmers for default of land tax. A resolution adopted at the executive committee meeting of the district units here on Tuesday alleged that the Revenue officials initiated distraint proceedings against farmers for failure of remitting land tax contrary to the Government announcement.
