Hole-in-one by Surya Prakash

BANGALORE: Surya J. Prakash made a hole-in-one on the par three 13th hole and with a couple of birdies led in the `A' division of the Nokia South India junior & sub-junior golf tournament which commenced at the Karnataka Golf Association course here on Tuesday.

Surya Prakash used a six-iron to tee off on the 174-yard 13th hole and was delighted on achieving any golfer's dream shot. Surya Prakash ended the day with a score of par 72 to lead from Raj Randhawa, Ajeetesh Sandhu and Kunal Balhara who were two strokes behind.

In the `B' division, Rahul Bakshi returned with the best card of the day in all sections to lead by seven strokes from Jaipur's Amanjyot Singh, Udayan Mane and Madhav Soi all of whom shared the second spot. Rahul Bakshi played to one under par 71.

The results (first round):

A Division (15-17 years): Surya Prakash (72); Raj Randhawa, Kunal Balhara and Ajeetesh Sandhu (74); Anirban Lahiri, Pradyumna Prakash (75), Karan Singh (76), Karan Taunk (77), Siddharth Seth, Himmat Rai (78).

B division (13-14 years): Rahul Bakshi (71); Amanjyot Singh, Udayan Mane and Madhav Soi (78); Pritam Haridas (80);Warren Dodsworth, Rashid Khan, Abhijeet Chada and Akash Vats (81); Saurabh Bahadur, Kanishk Madan and Wayne Dodsworth (82).

C division (11-12 years): Khalin Joshi (78); Ainesh Ahluwalia (87); Kapil Kumar, Hemandra Chaudry, Anish Gupta (89); Samrat Taru Basu (91); Akhil Rao, Jay Shirke (95); Dhruv Sachdeva, Chikkarangappa (97).
