VIRUDHUNAGAR: Venting his ire against the Union Budget through an SMS (short messaging service) from his mobile phone to his friends and the numbers he had access to using abusive language against the Union Finance Minister, P. Chidambaram, has landed a shop owner in trouble. The district police booked a case under the Information Technology Act 2000 on Tuesday. According to police, A.S. Murugavel, a fancy shop owner, had sent an SMS criticising the budget presented by Union Finance Minister on April 7 using "abusive words." The Virudhunagar district Congress committee general secretary, P.P.R. Nagendran, filed a complaint with the Virudhunagar (Town) police in this regard.
