`State repressing revolutionary forces'

Staff Reporter

CPI(ML) ideologue calls for armed struggle

Challapalli Srinivas Rao

HYDERABAD: Continued crackdown on revolutionary forces, rise in alleged fake encounters and harassment of naxal sympathisers came in for sharp criticism at a `convention against State repression' organised here on Tuesday by the CPI (ML) Chandra Pulla Reddy group.

Speakers at the meeting were highly critical of the Government and faulted the Chief Minister, Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, for trying to scuttle peace talks. The Government also drew flak for claiming that it was willing to continue the talks even as the police had stepped up combing operations and started killing Maoist and other extremists.

The CPI (ML) Janashakti emissary, Challapalli Srinivas Rao, who pulled out of peace talks, maintained that only armed struggle would end the sufferings of people. He said revolutionary forces should mobilise arms and continue its struggle against fascist forces.

The Government was taking advantage of the differences among revolutionary forces. He said the Government's stand towards naxalites was no different from the TDP regime. The CPI (ML) State committee member, E. Ramanna Goud, said united struggle against the Government policies should continue.
