ADILABAD: The Social Welfare Minister and district in charge, D.S. Redya Naik, on Tuesday sanctioned Rs. 5 lakhs for construction of a bridge on the nullah at Krantinagar locality. He also sanctioned Rs. 1 lakh for construction of a drain. Participating in the Praja Patham programme in Adilabad town, the Minister said all problems related to drinking water in town would be over once the Rs. 8 crores drinking water augmentation scheme will be completed. He said the scheme would be completed by early 2006. Talking about the new ration cards, Mr. Redya Naik said white cards would be disbursed after the completion of survey in two months. In response to a demand for a railway over bridge, he said it would be brought to the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy's notice in his next visit to Adilabad. The Adilabad MLA, C. Ramchander, said efforts would be made to get sanction for 3,500 weaker section houses in town. The Collector J. Sudha Rani, RDO D. Ashok Kumar Naik and Municipal Commissioner D. Jagadeshwar were also present.
