Praja Patham morale-booster for Danampalli residents

Staff Reporter

CHERIYAL (WARANGAL DT): For the people of the remote village of Danampalli, the Praja Patham programme has come as a blessing. On Tuesday, they witnessed the beginning of a series of developmental programmes.

The district administration embarked on implementing all the promises made by the Chief Minister, Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, during his visit to the village on April 13. The Major Irrigation Minister, Ponnala Lakshmaiah, Cheriyal MLA K Pratap Reddy, District Collector N Siva Sankar and others took part in the foundation-laying ceremony for a milk collection centre, SC community hall, six additional classrooms to the existing school, a tailoring centre and a cement concrete road. Later, they distributed 42 houses under the Indira Awas Yojana.

Questions Opposition

Mr. Lakshmaiah said the Opposition parties had raised a finger at the Chief Minister's visit to the village and sought to know what this had achieved. But the Government was determined to disprove their claims and in less than one month, it was there for the public to witness.

"This Government believes in delivering its promises as it did with the free power despite huge financial burden. The TDP Government deliberately neglected the villages, but the Congress Government is committed to serve the rural areas,'' Mr. Lakshmaiah said.

The Minister pointed out that the State Government accorded top priority to the irrigation projects to help the farming community and the overall development of villages was next on the agenda. He said the Government was not interested in publicity, but in practical work.

Later, Mr. Lakshmaiah inaugurated the newly built Mandal Revenue Office building at Narmetta mandal headquarters.
