Schools to reopen on May 30

MANGALOREMANGALOREMANGALORE: The schools in Dakshina Kannada district will reopen on May 30, according to an official release.

The first trimester will be from June 1 to October 2. There will be mid-term vacation from October 3 to October 13. The second trimester will be from October 14 to December 24. There will be vacation from December 25 to December 31. The third trimester will be from January 1, 2006 to April 10, 2006. — Staff Correspondent

Power shutdown

MANGALOREMANGALOREMANGALORE: Power supply will be disrupted between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on May 11 and may 18 in Bajpe, Muchchuru, Bajpe Airport, Paduperar, Permude, Malavoor and adjoining areas, according to a press release from the Mangalore Electricity Supply Company.

In a separate release, MESCOM stated that power supply to Haleangadi, Sasihithlu, Padu Panambur and adjoining areas will be disrupted between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Thursday. — Staff Correspondent

Free eye camp at Kulai

MANGALOREMANGALOREMANGALORE: The Association for the Blind, Dakshina Kannada, and Mahila Mandala, Kulai, will organise a free eye check up and treatment camp at Kulai on May 22, a press release said.

This will be the 114th such free eye check up and treatment camp organised by the association. The camp will be held from 9.30 a.m. to 1 p.m. — Staff Correspondent
