Ordinance an eye-wash, says CPI(M)

THIRUVANANTHAPURAMTHIRUVANANTHAPURAMTHIR: The CPI(M) district committee has charged that the ordinance promulgated by the Government to take over the Halcyon Palace and adjacent land at Kovalam was an "eye-wash" and part of a "deal" with the private hotel group, M Far.

Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, the district secretary, M. Vijayakumar, said the Government should take over not only the palace and land, but also properties such as the KTDC's Hotel Samudra, Guest House, Kovalam Post Office, the old Police Station and the two beaches.
