Woman gang raped in NOIDA
An FIR was lodged at sector 39 police station on Tuesday. The victim's husband, a resident of Asgarpur alleged that while he was going on motorcycle with his wife on Monday night at around 8.30 p.m. four local youths thrashed him and took away scooter and kidnapped his wife. He alleged they gang raped her and threw her in Bhangel area late night, police said. The medical report has confirmed the rape and the accused have been arrested, they said.
NGO employee detained
Heinrich (50), a Computer Programmer with the NGO, was detained for interrogation after his colleague made a complaint of molestation with the police, according to sources. ``However, he was not arrested.'' The detention was done after the 34-year-old woman lodged a formal complaint with the police that her senior had made an attempt to molest her and that the harassment had been continuing for long, according to a police official.
Stolen motorcycles recovered
Working on a tip-off about a group operating in Shakarpur, the police laid a trap and apprehended Ashok near Nehru Enclave. During interrogation Ashok, who has appeared for his Class X examination, revealed that he used to steal the motorcycles and sell them. He had stolen five motorcycles from the area of Shakarpur and parked four of them at different places in order to sell them later. Bomb hoax NEW DELHI : A hoax bomb call delayed the Amritsar-Mumbai Paschim Express for over an hour at New Delhi railway station on Tuesday evening. After the train reached the station at around 5 p.m., the Government Railway Police got a phone call that a bomb has been planted in the train. Immediately, GRP, Railway Protection Force and Delhi police along with its dog squad started searching the train and passengers were asked to vacate all the coaches. However, after searching for over an hour, nothing was found and the call was declared as hoax. After getting security clearance, the train left the station at 6-10 p.m., almost an hour behind schedule. Youth arrested NEW DELHI : A 23-year-old youth, who was allegedly trying to smuggle one kg of synthetic heroin into the Capital from Uttar Pradesh, was arrested this past Saturday. Following a tip-off, the Delhi Police Narcotics Branch laid a trap near Welcome Metro Station. Mohammad Abkar, a resident of Muradabad in Uttar Pradesh, arrived in a Maruti car around 5 in the evening to deliver the consignment. When the accused stepped out from his car he was immediately nabbed by the Narcotics Staff.
