Two policemen promoted

NEW DELHI:
: The Commissioner of Delhi police, K.K. Paul, conferred out of turn promotion to two policemen on Tuesday. Head Constable Prahalad Kumar was given the rank of ASI for his exemplary gallant act that led to a successful operation in which two members of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen Peer Panjal Regiment - Tarif Hussain and Tanzeem Ahmed - were arrested on Feb. 7, 2003. The other person to be promoted was Constable Narender Kumar, who was conferred the rank of Head Constable for making intense efforts and apprehending Jitender, who had escaped from police custody after drugging an escort party at All India Institute of Medical Sciences on July 15, 2004.
