Power shutdown

The Bangalore Electricity Supply Company has announced that it will resort to a power shutdown in the White Field Main Road area, White Field limits, Siddapura and Rammagondahalli on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. to facilitate maintenance work.

Workshop on film making

A workshop on film making for persons with no experience in the field will be organised at SAE College campus on May 21. Participants at the workshop will be taught to write a script, and edit and direct short films.

The workshop will lay emphasis on animation films and music videos.

Seminar on Vaishnavism

The B.M. Shri Memorial Foundation will hold a seminar on the newly found works on Sri Vaishnavism, known as "Vishishtaadvaita Haridasa Sahithya," at the B.M. Shri Kala Bhavan on Sunday. The founder and secretary of the Narayana Sharma Samskruti Kendra, Geethaacharya, will speak at the seminar. A book on the works of Beluru Vaikuntadasa will be released.

Music festival till Sunday

Sri Thyagaraja Gana Sabha Trust, in association with Sri Mookambika Talavadya Sangeetha Kala Shale, will celebrate Sri Bhagawad Shankara Hayanthi Sangeethotsava in Rajajinagar till Sunday. The programmes will be held at Sri Vani Vidya Kendra. Well-known musician and musicologist Ganakalashree T.S. Sathyavathi will preside over the celebrations. The trust has been promoting music festivals and concerts for 34 years.

Post offices to accept premiums

All Head Post Offices and select post offices in Bangalore are now accepting premiums due on various non-life insurance policies of Oriental Insurance Company on all working days, including Saturdays.
