Correct policy

This refers to the interview with External Affairs Minister Natwar Singh. In our relations with Pakistan, we have to follow a policy of firmness and adequate preparation but maintain a friendly approach. There can be no doubt that India and Pakistan, situated as they are geographically and given their shared history, cannot carry on forever as enemies. The foreign policy we have been pursuing is the correct one and, indeed, the only policy a country like India can pursue.

Hanamkonda, A.P.
