MOSCOW: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's visit to Moscow on May 8-10 was "excellent" and his talks with President Vladimir Putin yielded "very positive results," informed Indian sources said. The Prime Minister visited Russia to attend the 60th anniversary celebrations of allied victory in World War II. During his meeting with Mr. Putin, the Russian leader promised to examine the possibility of supplying nuclear fuel for Tarapur and providing two more nuclear reactors for Koodankulam, where two Russian-built reactors are being currently installed. As a follow-up to Mr. Singh's talks with Mr. Putin, the National Security Adviser, M.K. Narayanan, met on Wednesday Russian Defence Minister Sergei Ivanov and Security Council Secretary Igor Ivanov. It was confirmed at the meeting with the Russian Defence chief that India and Russia will hold two joint military exercises later this year. These will include the first-ever India-Russia paratrooper war games and their second naval manoeuvres. The Russian Defence Minister may visit India before the end of this year, the Indian sources said. The Joint Intergovernmental Commission for Military-Technical Cooperation is expected to meet for an annual session early next year.
