SCR enters quarterfinals

RAJAPALAYAM: South Central Railway, Secunderabad, entered the quarterfinals of the Ramco-Rajapalayam City Basketball Club golden jubilee all-India tournament defeating Kerala President's Five, Thrissur, 62-40 here on Wednesday.

In another exciting match, AOC, Secunderabad, beat Integral Coach Factory, Chennai, 73-71 to make the last-eight grade.

The results (quarterfinals): South Central Railway, Secunderabad, 62 (Nihal Yadav 25, Liju Abraham 13) bt Kerala President's Five, Thrissur, 40 (Vijobi 21); AOC, Secunderabad, 73 (Nagaraj 26, Raja 12) bt ICF, Chennai, 71 (Rajan 30, Ashwin 14); Signals, Delhi, 87 (Pramod Kumar 17, Jairam Jet 20, Jaswant Singh 10) bt Western Railway, Mumbai, 66 (Prakash Mithra 19, Aravind 17); Artillery Centre, Hyderabad, 66 (Suresh 18, Bipin 13) bt Chennai Telephones 55 (Leonard Charles 18, Janakiram Reddy 10).

Women's league: Southern Railway, Chennai, 57 (Adhirai 18, Ranjini Peter 17, Shamala S. Jothi 14) bt South Central Railway, Secunderabad, 46 (Jetty Jose 18, Sindhu 14, Beena Francis 10).
