KANPUR: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav said on Wednesday he had sufficient proof to back his allegations that his phone had been tapped and it would be made public at an appropriate time. Mr Yadav told reporters here after inaugurating the Ganga barrage that the Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil had assured him of an early report on the phone tapping allegations and he would put forward his proof in due course. In reply to a question about the Election Commission's involvement in the Bihar elections, Mr Yadav said that he had already given his reaction during the Mainpuri elections. There is nothing new in it, he said When his attention was drawn to allegations made by an industrial group about the selling of landed property, Mr Yadav said costly lands could not be disposed at nominal rates. It could be properly assessed before disposing of the land, he said. He said the State government would go ahead with its own water policy and leave no stone unturned to increase the foodgrain production in the State. The Chief Minister urged the people to maintain the status of the river Ganga and keep it free from pollution. ``The government should take utmost care to keep our rivers free from pollution as these were the lifeline of human beings,'' he said.
