Volleyball
Chennai: The Indian Youth (boys) team has landed in Tehran to participate in the fifth Asian Youth volleyball championship, to be held from May 13 to 19. The defending champion, India, is playing Korea (May 13), Australia (May 14) and China (May 15) in Pool B. Iran, Thailand, Japan and Chinese-Taipei are in Pool A. The Indian team: Gurpreet Singh, Balwinder Singh, Gurchand Singh, Karthikeyan, Lalit Kumar, Ashok Kumar, G. Pradeep (captain), Sube Singh, Shelton Moses, Gurinder Singh, Prithivi Raj and Vikram Singh. Chief coach: P.S. Chauhan; Asst. coach: Koteswara Rao; Referee: Nitin Jaganath Ahir Rao.
