KOCHI: The Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (Economic Offences) on Thursday gave P.R. Unnikrishnan, an accused in the case relating to smuggling out certain consignments from the Kochi port, to the custody of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) for two days. In an application filed before the Magistrate, the DRI officers sought custody of the accused for interrogating him in connection with the container case. The accused surrendered on Tuesday before the magistrate court. The prosecution case was that C.K. Boben and A.R. Ajeesh, first and second accused in the case respectively, had imported consignment in March from Dubai. The Magistrate on Thursday also adjourned to May 16 the hearing on the bail application filed by Unnikrishnan.
