Recruitment rally begins

MYSORE: A four-day airmen recruitment rally by the Central Airmen Selection Board commenced here on Thursday.

The State-level recruitment rally is being held for various technical and non-technical posts in the Indian Air Force. Hundreds of youths appeared for the selection process that included a written test followed by physical fitness test.

The selection entails an elimination process at different stages. The written and physical fitness tests are followed by a medical examination and an interview. The selection process is open to candidates who have passed the pre-university examination with at least 50 per cent marks in science or those with a three-year diploma and born between January 1985 and September 30, 1988 for technical posts.

For non-technical posts, candidates who have passed the SSLC or equivalent examination with at least 50 per cent market in aggregate and born between January 1987 and September 1989 are eligible. Aspirants from Mandya, Chamarajanagar, Kodagu, Bagalkot, Bidar, Hassan, Belgaum and other districts are attending the rally. The non-technical trade selection is slated for May 14 and 15. The final results are likely to be announced in the last week of July.
