30 papers selected for contest

MYSORE: The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the National Institute of Engineering here will organise "Cogniescience," a State-level paper presentation contest, on Saturday.

A press release from the National Institute of Engineering said the Additional Director of the Central Power Research Institute, Bangalore, S. Seetharamu, will inaugurate the event and deliver the keynote address.

The Honorary Secretary of the National Institute of Engineering, M. Sreepada, will preside over the function. It said 30 papers in mechanical, automobile and industrial production engineering from various engineering colleges have been short-listed for presentation.

The papers would focus on the recent developments in the relevant fields.

The event provides an opportunity for engineering students to take initiatives to learn the latest trends in technologies and a platform to inculcate a spirit of self-learning besides offering scope to hone communication skills.

Besides the National Institute of Engineering management, the release said, various private companies are sponsoring the event.
