Power cut in Parliament House
At 12-56 p.m., the Park Street sub-station tripped due to some snag in the Vasant Kunj Ridge Valley circuit affecting supply to Parliament House and in some parts of the civic body's area including Parliament Street and Rafi Marg. According to the NDMC spokesperson, the breakdown was for 13 minutes only, and the supply to Parliament House was hardly affected as alternate source of supply were immediately switched on.
`ISI agent' held
Subsequently, a Special Cell team took up position around the exit gate of New Delhi railway station on the Ajmeri Gate side and when at 9-40 p.m. a person wearing a kurta pyjama and holding a jute bag in his hand was seen walking cautiously towards the public urinal, the informer pointed him out as the ISI agent. The police team moved in and nabbed him. A search of Aish-ur-Rehman led to the recovery of two unreserved general tickets of North East Express from Jalpaiguri to New Delhi besides a personal diary, a bag containing 390 fake Indian currency notes of Rs 500 denomination worth Rs 1.95 lakhs and a polythene packet which contained 970 grams of heroin worth approximately Rs 1 crore in the international market.
Man held for car thefts
The police said the accused, Joginder, was a resident of Shahbad Mohammadpur and was moving in a Maruti van which he had stolen from Dwarka when he was nabbed. As he was driving with a fake number plate, the Anti Auto Theft Squad nabbed him in Paschim Vihar area. During questioning, he allegedly confessed to his involvement in fours case of auto theft.
Man killed in accident
The police said the victim, 31-year-old Rajinder Prasad, a resident of Shiv Vihar, was going along with his brother in the TSR when it was hit by a truck near 5th Pushta. Rajinder Prasad was killed on the spot.
