Paswan's stand

This refers to Lok Jan Shakti Party chief Ram Vilas Paswan's stand that he is ready to reconsider his stand regarding the RJD if the Congress proposes a Muslim Chief Minister for Bihar. With politicians lining up to stake claim as champions of the minorities, I wonder how long it will take before no one is left to represent the interests of the majority!

J. Akshobhya,
Mysore

It appears that Mr. Paswan's demand for the Congress to take the lead in forming a Government in Bihar is to gain the sympathy of the Muslim community. If he is really concerned about Muslims, he should focus on solving their basic problems.

Md.Mudassir Alam,
Aligarh, U.P.

How is it that no one is questioning Mr. Paswan's claim to championing the cause of secularism if he wants a Chief Minister selected on the basis of religion?

Sunil Rajaram More,
Mumbai
