Criticism justified

The Left parties' criticism of the UPA Government for not enacting the Employment Guarantee Scheme, the Women's Reservation Bill, the Agricultural Workers Bill, and the Bill on the rights of tribals during its first year in office is to be commended. The Government, instead, has taken such unpopular steps as increasing the FDI limit in various sectors and deciding to supply arms to Nepal. The opposition expressed by the Left is understandable.
