VARANASI: The former Shiv Sena leader, Sanjay Nirupam, who was recently inducted into the Congress, has charged Disinvestment Minister in the NDA Government, Arun Shourie, with "direct involvement" in the privatisation of Centaur Hotel in Mumbai and the sale of 18 out of 26 hotels of the ITDC at "throwaway prices" and demanded a probe into the matter by either the CBI or the CVC. Mr. Shourie had "circumvented the disinvestment procedure in the sale of the Centaur Hotel at Mumbai at grossly under-priced value," he told reporters here on Friday. Mr. Nirupam said he had written a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh about the deals relating to Centaur Hotel and the ITDC hotels and was awaiting his reply on the action to be taken by the UPA Government.
