BELLARY: The police have arrested four persons in connection with the murder of Vijaykeshav, a financer, on Graham Road around 10 p.m. on Monday. Pankaj Kumar Thakur, Superintendent of Police, told presspersons here on Friday that Chandrashekar, a realtor and cousin of the deceased, wanted to eliminate Vijaykeshav and gave "supari" for Rs. 6 lakhs to one Ramesh in this regard. Ramesh in turn hired Raju, alias Vimal Raju, Ramu, alias Ramli and Chandra to kill Vijaykeshav. M.R. Reddy, Police Inspector, and his staff who launched an investigation, succeeded in cracking the case by arresting Chandrashekar. Based on his confession, the police arrested Raju, Ramli and Chandra. Ramesh is still at large, he said.
Attempt to murder
Mr. Thakur said an attempt to murder Vijaykeshav was made by the arrested persons in June 2003 near Mothi Circle as confessed by them.
