HYDERABAD: One of the founders of the People's War, now rechristened CPI (Maoist), K.G. Satyamurthy, has said that it is not new for the former Maoist emissary, Varavara Rao, to write letters to naxal leaders against people with whom he was not comfortable. Speaking to reporters here on Friday, Mr. Satyamurthy said he and another Virasam leader, Tripuraneni Madhusudan Rao, were victims of such letters written by Mr. Varavara Rao. He alleged that the recent letters against Gadar and Kalyan Rao was a ploy by Mr. Varavara Rao to pre-empt any move by the two to attend a secret party conference. He said that if Mr. Gadar and Mr. Kalyan Rao had attended an all-India conference of the revolutionary party, they would have exposed the discrimination of dalits in the party.
