Heat wave, hailstorm hit Nellore

NELLORE: While Nellore and surrounding places are experiencing heat wave, some other areas of the district are reeling under the impact of gales and hailstorm.

The hailstorm, which lasted for about 15 minutes, left behind a trail of damage in Rapur mandal on Thursday night.

Electric poles were uprooted resulting in power failure. Many trees too were uprooted and mango and lemon crops, damaged.

Podalakur and Chejerla mandals, which were lashed by gales on Wednesday night, are yet to recover from its impact.
