RAJAHMUNDRY: Sunstroke has claimed six lives in East Godavari district and many old persons have been admitted to various hospitals with symptoms of diarrhoea. According to official reports, all the six have died during the last three days. In Ramaraopet of Komaragiri in I. Polavaram mandal, G. Nrasamma (65) died on Thursday morning after she suffered diarrhoea. M. Satya Raju (58), who sells sandal sticks and dhoop sticks in a bicycle everyday in Amalapuram rural, died on Thursday afternoon. He fell down on the main road. An 80-year-old woman, M. Karuna Kataksham, died in Gollprolu mandal following high temperature from Wednesday night. In Kadiam mandal's Muramadu village 55-year-old M. Subba Rao fell down dead in his field on Thursday afternoon. N. Rama Rao (58) died in Pasarlapudi village when he was going to a neighbouring village in a two-wheeler on Friday. In Ravikampeta, 67-year-old T. Sitaravamma died after she was admitted to a private hospital with diarrhoea. Meanwhile, day temperature in the district rose and in Rajahmundry the mercury touched 46 degrees Celsius and in Amalapuram and Kakinada it was 44 and 45 respectively.
