HYDERABAD: The Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, announced re-dedication of his Government to the welfare of people at a simple ceremony on Friday on the eve of the first anniversary of his party's rule. Addressing senior officials and Cabinet Ministers, Dr. Reddy asked the administration to live up to the expectations of people. The Congress had returned to power on an unprecedented wave of popularity and its Government would not go back on its promises. He reiterated that his Government would only stipulate guidelines and suggestions for good governance and would not depend on publicity. It was up to officials to implement the programmes in letter and spirit and usher in the welfare Government as promised, he said. He said the TDP's criticism against his Government, officials in particular, was uncalled for. Earlier, he took an oath to remain committed to the promise of establishing `Indiramma Rajyam' and released a book on good governance published by the Centre for Good Governance.
