KARUR: : A total of 55 pensioners, who retired as teachers under the Assistant Elementary Education Office in Karur district and who petitioned for addressing their pension-related grievances, were disbursed Rs.8,51,770. Acting under instructions from the Collector, A. Karthik, a special committee cleared the difference in payment of arrears following the Sixth Pay Commission recommendations to the 55 identified and eligible teachers. Mr. Karthik also urged the officials to quickly address the grievances of the pensioners whichever department they had worked in.
