CHAMARAJANAGAR: V. Sreenivas Prasad, former Minister, has said that the Ambedkar bhavans in Chamarajanagar have become symbols of social justice. Speaking on Saturday after inaugurating an Ambedkar bhavan at Badanaval village built at a cost of Rs. 13.5 lakhs, he said that while in power, he gave priority to the construction of community halls in his constituency. He said funds from the MPs Local Area Development Scheme can be utilised effectively for development works. Noting that the country is yet to accept Dr. Ambedkar's principles, he said no effort is being made to understand Ambedkar's teachings. Unveiling a portrait of Ambedkar, the Food and Civil Supplies Minister, H.S. Mahadeva Prasad, said development is possible if politicians work in that regard.
