MYSORE: The traders of Bandipalya APMC Yard here have opposed the Government's decision to bring amendments to the APMC Act and have said that such a move will affect trading at the grassroots level. In a press release, the Bandipalya APMC Traders Welfare Committee has said that the State Government's decision to amend the Act will only benefit bigger trading houses such as the Metro at the cost of small traders at the district and taluk level APMC yards. If the Government decides to amend the Act, the traders will be forced to launch an agitation, the committee said. The proposed amendment, the traders felt, will affect the functioning of APMC yards that have been established in the Sixties. Not only have these yards served the customers well, but also employ several thousands whose future will be bleak.
