BANGALORE: Online registrations for The Hindu Opportunities Fair 2005 will begin on Monday. The two-day employment fair, the biggest to be organised here so far, will be held from May 28 at the Trade Centre near the International Technology Park Ltd. from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. To register online, log on to http://www.hindu.com, thehindu/jobs/index.htm, and you will be guided through the process. Each registered user will be given a unique registration code for reference and use at the venue. The fair is open to freshers and those with up to six years of job experience. For freshers, it will be prefixed with "f" followed by a number and for those with some job experience the code will be prefixed with "e".
Documents
Those attending the fair should bring with them a printout of the downloaded registration form, and hard copies of their résumé. Photocopying facilities will also be made available at the venue. Those who are unable to register online can contact the registration desks there. The sprawling 5,300 sq m venue will have more than 30 potential employers, 95 stalls, 11 test areas and 50 interview rooms so that applications can be processed quickly. The fair is presented by Cognizant Technology Solutions in association with iGATE Global Solutions Ltd., Verizon, and e-Serve. Hotel Bangalore International, the hospitality-sponsor, will have a full-fledged food court at the venue.
Special buses
Special buses will ply from various points in the city to the venue of fair, the details of which will be announced later. The last The Hindu Opportunities Fair, held in Coimbatore in February, had over 40,000 jobseekers from Chennai, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Madurai, Trichy, and Bangalore lining up for top jobs on offer.
