KRISHNAGIRI: A Special Economic Zone (SEZ), at an outlay of Rs. 3,000 crores, has been proposed around Hosur, said the Collector, Mangat Ram Sharma. Responding to the grievances raised at a mass contact programme held at Thattikanapalli here on Saturday, he said that a study was being conducted by the Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO) and the details worked out. As many as 210 petitions were received by the Collector, of which 47 were disposed of on the spot. A majority of the petitions pertained to proper road and transport facilities, streetlights and transfer of pattas, land registration and old-age pension. Speaking at the programme, the Collector said that action would be taken on the petitions and pattas would be distributed to eligible persons.
12 group houses
A total of 12 group houses would be constructed for members belonging to the Adi-dravidar community at an estimate of Rs. 4.10 lakhs in the current year. In addition, 11 group houses would be constructed for members belonging to the backward community at an outlay of Rs. 3.74 lakhs, he said. A school building and public convenience would be constructed at the Thattikanapalli panchayat. The Collector also laid the foundation stone for the construction of a public distribution outlet at the panchayat. The road from Hosur to Muthali via Thattikanapalli, which lies in a battered condition, would be repaired immediately. A sum of Rs. 50,000 had been sanctioned for the construction of a mini-bridge in the village, he said.
