Isolated rainfall

in Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI: Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema and Karnataka.

Mainly dry weather prevailed over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Lakshadweep and dry weather prevailed over Telangana.

The chief amounts of rainfall recorded in cm are: Krishnagiri 5, Gudiyatham (Vellore dt.) and Sattur (Virudhunagar dt.) 2 each and Sholingir (Vellore dt.), Satyamangalam (Erode dt.), Valparai, Naduvattam (Nilgiris dt.) and Bydagi (Haveri dt.) 1 each.

On Friday, heat wave conditions prevailed over southern parts of south coastal Andhra Pradesh. The maximum temperature rose over Rayalaseema, north Tamil Nadu, fell over rest Tamil Nadu and changed little elsewhere over the region.

FORECAST (valid until Monday morning): Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Rayalaseema south interior Karnataka and Kerala. Mainly dry weather will prevail over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, coastal and north interior Karnataka and Lakshadweep.
