PONDICHERRY: Former minister and chairman of the Pondicherry unit of the All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC), R.Viswanathan and its general Secretary, V.S. Abishegam, today urged the Government to take immediate steps to modernise the Anglo French Textile Mills, the Sri Bharathi Mills and Swadeshi Cotton mills (all are under the control of Pondicherry Textiles Corporation now). Addressing newspersons here on Saturday they said that it was because of sustained efforts of the AITUC were the Mills here brought under the control of Pondicherry Administration.
