K. Prabhakar dead

BANGALORE: K. Prabhakar (96), former Minister and a respected political leader of the State, died on Saturday.

Mr. Prabhakar, who was from a Scheduled Caste, was elected to the Legislative Assembly for the first time from Nelamangala constituency in Bangalore Rural district. He was Minister for Social Welfare in the Nijalingappa Cabinet from 1962 to 67 and Minister for Panchayat Raj in Devaraj Urs Cabinet from 1974 to 78.
