CUDDAPAH: Burglars broke into the house of one Venkatasubbaiah in Bhommayapalle village in Mydukur mandal in the early hours of Saturday and decamped with 20 tolas gold and Rs. 2.50 lakhs in cash all worth over Rs. 3.50 lakhs. The inmates of the house were sleeping in the foreyard when the burglars gained entry from the rear. The burglars carried an almirah to Uppuvanka, about half a km away and broke it open, the police said. Venkatasubbaiah had drawn the cash from the bank for registration of a new house being purchased by him. The Mydukur DSP, Uma Maheswara Rao, the Urban CI, Srinivasulu Reddy, and Clues Team staff inspected the scene of offence.
