TIRUPATI: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has accused the Congress Government of instigating violence in the State, calling the Penukonda incident as one more in the series of political murders in its one-year rule. Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, the BJP State president, N. Indrasena Reddy, accused the Government of deliberately keeping insufficient forces in the sensitive constituency, knowing fully well its faction background and the likelihood of violence getting triggered at the slightest provocation. Demanding a judicial inquiry, Mr. Reddy wanted the Government to own up responsibility for the unfortunate incident. On the annoyance reportedly expressed by the Chief Minister, Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, for the Opposition's demand for a judicial inquiry, he suggested that Dr. Reddy be more tolerant and receptive to suggestions from various quarters.
