THRISSUR: The Congress leader V.M. Sudheeran has said that the Union Government should implead in the Supreme Court in the case relating to the leader of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) Abdul Nasir Maudany who is being detained in Coimbatore jail as an undertrial prisoner since 1988, to help him get bail. Addressing a convention organised here on Saturday by the `Maudany Moulikavakasha Samrakshana Samithi,' Mr. Sudheeran said it would be a violation of the Article 21 of the Indian Constitution, ensuring the `Right to life,' to detain Maudany as an undertrial prisoner for so long. Even those who are opposed to the policies of Maudany are now united in getting his early release, he said.
