Power cut

CHENNAI: Power supply will be suspended between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Tuesday in the Puzhal SS, Mandaveli, Kadapperi SS, Korattur, R.A. Puram, Valasaravakkam, Nehru Nagar, Ambattur North, Mannady, Muthialpet, S.K. Nagar, VOC Nagar and Park Town areas.

Blood donation

The Art of Living is organising blood donation camps on Sunday at five of its centres in the city-- Anna Nagar, Mylapore, T. Nagar, Velachery and Tirunindravur.

The camps are being held as part of birthday celebrations of its founder, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. The camps will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Yoga programme

Isha Foundation will conduct a 13-day Isha Yoga Programme from May 15 at Mylapore Fine Arts Club and Little Holy Angles Matriculation Higher Secondary School. For details, call 9841598745.

Communication

skills

Yale Institute will conduct a `Communication Skills-English Program' for children in the 6-9 and 10-14 age groups from May 18 to 29 at Vadapalani and Porur.

The topics include proverbs, idions, phrases, homophones, antonyms and synonyms.

Temple cleaning

Selfless Movement Improving Life Everywhere (SMILE) volunteers on Saturday cleaned the Arulmigu Kariamanicka Perumal temple at Aynavaram. Around 40 volunteers participated.

The organisation also distributed clothes, bedsheets and vessels to 2,000 residents affected by the recent fire accident at MKB Nagar in North Chennai.

Blood donated

Lions Club of Velachery conducted a blood donation camp on Saturday at Valasaravakkam.

The series of camps led by members V. Ramesh, G. Nagarajan and S. Azhahan has been able to mobilise 5843 units between July, 2004 and May, 2005.
