CHENNAI: The Central Crime Branch of the City Police have busted a job racket in the city that collected money from job seekers and promised to place them in companies abroad. Investigators say they have arrested three persons in this connection and seized 68 passports, a few fake visa papers and fudged appointment letters from various companies in Malaysia and Singapore. S. Kannan, a resident of Pondicherry, lodged a complaint with Commissioner of Police R. Nataraj on Thursday that his son Vasu was stranded in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, after having been sent there by the placement agency in Chromepet. On reaching there, Vasu discovered that the appointment letter was fudged and the company did not seek salesmen from India. The police rounded up Rajendran, proprietor of Sri Ram Enterprise in Chromepet, and his associates Dilli Basha and Joseph, on Friday. The passports recovered from them belonged to individuals in Tiruchi, Pudukkottai, Pondicherry and other districts.
